   Using Centuries-old techniques at a workshop in Bat Trang, Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Nguyen, 33, creates beautiful, blue and white ceramic bowls and teapots. Nguyen's family traditionally farms the land. Seven years ago, when Nguyen needed to find a new source of income, she learned Vietnamese ceramic-making skills through Ten Thousand Villages artisan partner Craft Link. Artisans working with Craft Link use a combination of poured mold and hand shaping techniques and fire the clay at very high temperatures adding strength and durability to the hand painted blue and white ceramics. Nguyen specializes in glazing, adding a high polished shine. She earns stable, fair income that helps her realize her dream of educating her children.
